Dear friends,
Constitution Island Association (CIA) has served as a guardian of American history for over a century. Chartered by the NYS Department of Education, we stand as one of the nation’s oldest nonprofit partners of the federal government. As we celebrate the America250 anniversary for the next 7 years, we invite you to support us generously in our mission to introduce Constitution Island and its revolutionary history to a new generation.
Why Your Support Matters Now:
-
Preserving a Revolutionary Anchor: Constitution Island was the strategic anchor for the Great Chain of 1778, which blocked British ships during the Revolutionary War (1776-1783).
-
Historic Stewardship: Following a magnificent government funded renovation, the Warner House (1836) stands as an authentic, well-protected museum.
-
Susan and Anna Warner: the 19th-century authors and songwriters lived on the island and taught Bible classes to West Point cadets for 40 years. Their legacy lives on in our meticulously cared-for Warner Sisters Gardens, maintained by our dedicated volunteers.
-
Mission-Driven Education: As a 501(c)(3) not for profit, we work with the island’s owner, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and local educators to keep the history of the island alive.
Please join us with a gift to help us bring these stories to life. Become a member, or renew your membership, today.
