Preservation construction on the Warner House nearing completion!
Posted December 2019
Dear Friends and Supporters:
The Warner House restoration project is finally nearing a close and is remarkable to behold. It is a significant milestone in the Constitution Island Association’s history. We are looking forward to a flagship year in 2020, when we will reopen our doors, welcoming visitors to tour the restored Warner House, view the interpretive display in the Education Center and participate in more vibrant programming throughout the year.
We are grateful to the United States Army Garrison, the Military Academy at West Point and Army Corps of Engineers for seeing this project through to completion. The Association is committed to fostering a thriving relationship with our West Point affiliates and is pleased to have the support of Garrison Commander Colonel & Mrs. Marson.
We will be collaborating with USMA academics and educators, as well as environmental and natural resource leaders as we move forward exploring additional ways to expand our programming. We are also pleased to announce that the West Point Library will now house and provide access to the extraordinary Warner archives.
The Association’s Signature Events will once again be held on the Island in 2020, along with weekly tours of the house and its historically accurate gardens. Thankfully, we have a team of dedicated volunteers that maintain the Warner Sisters’ gardens during the warmer months. If you are interested in joining this invaluable group or would like to volunteer in any capacity, please contact us for more details.
The Association critically needs your support to assist with the reinterpretation of the Warner House, including the preparation of an assessment of its furnishings, (which have been in storage for the past 10 years), and any subsequent restoration needs of these items prior to their returning to the Warner House. We are grateful for your past generosity, and urge you to contribute once again at this crucial juncture. Your tax-exempt gift will help us continue to make this beautiful, historic gem available to all, both now and for generations to come.

Wishing you all the best for the Holiday Season and a prosperous New Year!
