Every year students take the ferry
to Constitution Island and visit the Warner House, the fully furnished 19th century home of Susan and Anna Warner. Students have
the opportunity to view architecture, paintings, sculpture, artifacts and authentic 19th century fashions in the context of an
historic home. Costumed docents guide them on a tour of the family homestead. Students learn about the cultural forces that led
the Warners to become writers and how their writing affected their lives and their community. Also included are tours of the
historic gardens and the Revolutionary War's Fort Constitution.
